Normally, this event is well attended, there are stands and stalls around the Broadway which usually has bands playing on a large stage.
Unfortunately, the weather was awful, it rained all day long. Sadly the number of people attending the event was drastically reduced. We did manage to get a few people expressing an interest in joining the club.
As usual, I can’t recall what the combination is.
Unfortunately, I can’t recall which films packs I was playing with.
I love the shapes, patterns and colours beneath our feet and seem to have a rather large collection of photos of pavements.
Just a few shots trying out some of the filter settings. I can’t recall which app I used off the top of my head.
All the pics were taken around Morrisons’ car park.
These shots were taken in the area outside Morrisons supermarket in Letchworth town centre.
The row of seats leads to a bust of Sir Ebeneezer Howard, founder of Letchworth Garden City.
I set the camera to use one of the camera apps that offers a very contrasty black and white mode.
The Town Lodge is opposite. These two shots were taken with one of the iPhone HDR apps. Then there are two hots of the Broadway itself, one of the entrance and the other of one of the iconic windows.
The sign is opposite the cinema beside the Town Hall, it forms a saying as you walk around the small square it is beside.
The sensor is just so tiny that getting a good dynamic range without any noise in low light is near impossible, which is why so many photos taken at night and uploaded onto Facebook look so awful.
I tried some low light stuff one evening on my usual walk into town.
It’s interesting photographing the same scenes and buildings and trying to get a different aspect or result.
These were taken with the ‘Provoke’ monochrome app on the most contrasty setting.
I managed to find about the most waterlogged, boggy field system in the whole of Hertfordshire, but managed my way through it and came out by a farm on the A507 from Baldock to Cottered.
Naturally, I stopped off for a few shots on the phone around the farm yard.
The shots displayed here have been processed in the Painteresque App, apart from the last one which was done in Popsicolor.
I had a little play with one of the apps which supports changing the depth of field.
Unfortunately it was raining but this meant there were less people crowded round the cars, so it made it easier to get a few shots.
Also, the raindrops on the highly polished metal surfaces can make for some interesting shots.
We popped up there recently when we had some family visitors.
