As usual I took some shots on the phone. These ones are all pre-match and some show the warm up procedure for the team.
England -v- Russia
The GB team took on a team from Russia in a full-on 11 v 11 kitted game.
The British girls won the historic match.
I took a few iPhone shots before and during the game.
Cheetahs -v- Cats
I shot the senior team in their game against the Cambridgeshire Cats.
I then shot the Junior team in their loss against the East Kent Mavericks juniors.
Brighton Tsunami -v- Hertfordshire Hurricanes
It’s the second time I have shot a game down at Berighton’s home ground.
Hertfordshire won, as they usually do during their regular season games.
Watford Cheetahs -v- Bury Saints
I like to take a few shots on the phone if I get the chance.
It is probably better suited to the static player portrait type shots as the actual game play can be quite far away, but I do sometimes take some game shots, particularly when the teams are close to the end zone.
Cheetah Seniors & Juniors
The senior team were playing the Ipswich Cardinals (Watford won) and then following that game the Cheetah juniors played the Solent Thrashers (Watford lost).
Unfortunately, one of the Cheetah juniors got injured during the game and had to be taken to hospital, hence the ambulance photos.
As usual, I grabbed some images on the iPhone whilst on the sidelines.
Ouse Valley Eagles
I drove up to Bedford International Athletics Stadium to shoot the Ouse Valley Eagles.
For the last few years I have shot the Bedfordshire Blue Raiders at Bedford, but they amalgamated over the off-season with the Milton Keynes Pathfinders to
form a new team.
I took these shots on the iPhone as they were warming up.
Hurricanes -v- Nemesis
I’m quite lucky in that I get access to the players that lots of other photographers in the game don’t get, so I can go on the pitch while the team is warming up or practising and be right next to them in the huddle, or have them running right past me during warm-ups.
I sometimes take game shots on the iPhone, but due to the fact that the phone doesn’t have telephoto, (I never use the zoom function as, being a digital only zoom, it just degrades image quality) I have to be fairly close to the action to get anything reasonable on the phone. Mostly I am taking shots on the phone from behind the end zone during extra points or field goals.
The Hertfordshire Hurricanes visited Northampton University to take on the Nemesis. Unfortunately for Northampton Uni they weren’t set to be the
Hurricanes’ Nemesis; the Hurricanes ran out winners by their biggest ever winning margin, 95 – 0.
Cambridge -v- Oxford
Cheetahs -v- Pumas
Maidstone haven’t been a very successful team and today was no exception.
They play in the grounds of a college and I was taken with the design of one of the buildings, so I took a few shots on the way back to the dressing rooms.
Bedfordshire Blue Raiders
Cheetahs -v- Exiles
A selection of shots from the Watford Cheetahs before their game against the Kent Exiles.
London Blitz
I took some shots on my iPhone 3S.
Peterborough Saxons
This set was done in Hipstamatic using the JohnS lens and Kodot XGrizzled film.
Hurricanes -v- Blades
I shot the Hertfordshire Hurricanes in their victory over the Blades. All shots were taken on the iPhone 3S and were taken prior to the kick off.
