Norfolk Broads

Yachting on the Broads

I

went sailing on the Norfolk Broads again this year. This time we had a bigger boat; a 36 foot yacht.

It was a pretty adventurous two days. We managed to run aground a couple of times, my brother nearly fell in and lost his mobile phone. We managed to get tangled up in a racing dinghy’s marker buoy dragging it down one of the broads with the dinghies chasing after us as they tried to go around their buoy.

I expect we’ll be banned from returning next year.

Norfolk Broads

M

y father, brother and sister, hired a sailing boat on the Norfolk Broads for a few days, so we went up to meet them for the day.

The weather wasn’t great but it remained dry until we ended our day of sailing at one of the pubs, whereupon it absolutely chucked it down.

I took most of my photos on my compact camera but I did take a few on the iPhone.

Ice Cream Selfies

I

love ice cream.

Fortunately, we have a friendly ice cream man whose van stops right outside my house.

I thought it might be good (not for my health) to take a series of selfies every time I had an ice cream.

Since taking these shots, I have amassed many more Ice Cream Selfies.

Boxing Night

W

e had a quiet evening in on Boxing night so I took the opportunity to grab a few shots.

Sarah brought her African snails home with her from university, you can see one of them here, I think this one is called Luna.

The cider and sweets was a present from one of my daughters.

While I was taking photos of the Christmas tree decorations, I suddenly wondered what it would look like the other way round…

Photobombing Dog

J

ane bought me a little gizmo for my iPhone.

It’s a remote shutter release so you can set up the iPhone somewhere, load the remote shutter camera app and then press the button on the device and the phone will take a picture.

So I tried to use it to set up a selfie in the living room. I put the camera on the coffee table and just as I was about to take the shot, Tess photobombed.

Tess

Tess by the River

A couple of years ago we discovered a lovely river walk out the back of Henlow.

Tess loves it and although she was initially a bit reticent about water, she now loves going in the river.

These shots were taken after she came out of the river and was getting her breath back.
